What is WordPress?

WordPress is an open-source tool for building websites. It’s probably the easiest and most powerful blogging and website Content Management System (CMS) in existence today. WordPress is holding number #1 position, as the most popular CMS out there, now powering over 27% of the web.

What are WordCamps?

WordCamps are official WordPress conference that is approved by WordPress Central. It is a community event to help WordPress users & developers learn more and network with each other. It is a not-for-profit initiative and the ticket price is highly subsidized for the benefit of the community. WordCamps are organized in many cities around the world. WordCamp attendees include developers, bloggers, users, entrepreneurs, service providers, enterprises and newbies getting started with the WordPress.

The first WordCamp was organized in San Francisco by Matt Mullenweg in 2006. The first WordCamp in India was held way back in the year 2009 and it was called ‘WordCamp India’.

WordCamp Delhi 2017

WordCamp Delhi 2017 will be held on August 19th, 2017. WordCamp Delhi is going to be a full-day conference with multiple sessions on both technical & business topics related to WordPress. Renowned experts have been invited to deliver lectures. The sessions will be useful for both newbies as well as advanced users & developers of WordPress. Delicious food will be served to the participants. The venue is located in the heart of New Delhi at NDMC Convention Centre, Parliament Street, New Delhi.

About Delhi

Delhi, Officially ‘National Capital Territory of Delhi’ is the capital city of India will be hosting its first ‘WordCamp Delhi’.

The city has probably the country’s largest & busiest airport, railway stations & bus terminus providing easy connectivity to the entire world and even to the remotest & small places within India. The city has a very efficient metro transport system. It’s 7 functional lines connect almost all major areas of Delhi with each other and extends to the adjoining suburbs of Gurgaon, Noida, Faridabad & Ghaziabad which come under National Capital Region (NCR).

The city has numerous heritage, religious, cultural places to see and many shopping centers spread across the city. The 3 UNESCO Heritage sites in Delhi, Qutub Complex, Red Fort & Humayun’s Tomb are among the finest examples of Indo-Islamic Architecture. Connaught Place & Palika Bazaar (Both within 2 minutes walking distance from WordCamp Delhi venue), Chandni Chowk, Karol Bagh, Khan Market, Sarojini Nagar & Dilli Haat are some of the major retail markets in Delhi.
